privacy promise

Bay Pong was built for the community, not for advertisers. We believe your data belongs to you.

1. No Tracking Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies, pixels, or third-party marketing scripts. This is why you didn't see an annoying cookie banner when you arrived.

2. Data We Collect

We only collect the information you explicitly provide to us:

  • Suggestions: Anything you type into our "Ideas" form is sent to us via email. If you optionally include your email, we use it only to reply.
  • Newsletter: If you sign up, we store your email address solely to send you Bay Pong updates.
  • Check-ins and likes: When you check in or like a table, we store the table, whether you are playing or waiting (or that you liked it), how many people you counted, and the time. We do not store your name, email, or GPS coordinates.

3. Our Partners

To keep the site running, we use a few trusted services that handle data on our behalf:

  • Vercel: Hosts our website and processes technical logs (like IP addresses) for security and performance.
  • Leaflet & OpenStreetMap: Used to display table locations. This open-source setup is privacy-friendly and does not share your data with third-party advertisers.
  • Resend: Powers our "Ideas" page. When you send a suggestion, Resend securely routes that email to our team.
  • Mailchimp: Manages our community newsletter and stores subscriber emails on encrypted servers.

4. No Selling Data

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

5. Newsletter & Security

Our community newsletter is managed through Mailchimp. Subscriber emails are stored on Mailchimp's encrypted servers.

  • Strict usage: Emails are used only for Bay Pong updates and never shared or sold.
  • Easy opt-out: Every email includes a clear one-click unsubscribe link.
